We recommend that you take a stroll along the Schildergasse, before admiring Cologne’s cathedral and taking in the charm of the Old Town.

Location

The B&B Hotel Köln-West can be reached by car via the Köln-West A1/A4 motorway junction. The hotel is located 25km from Köln/Bonn Airport, around 12km from the Köln/Deutz conference centre and 9km from Cologne’s city centre. You can reach the city centre in just 20 minutes with regional train number 7 (direction Zündorf). The hotel is ideally located for business travellers and weekend visitors alike. It is just 4km from the RheinEnergieStadion football stadium and just 25km from Phantasialand, one of Germany’s biggest theme parks. Please check the directions by entering our postcode into your GPS system.

Facilities

Make yourself at home in one of our 105 modern single, double or family rooms for up to four people. We are able to provide rooms suitable for guests with limited mobility. Our rooms each have a desk and flat-screen TV. Comfortable beds and a high quality fitted bathroom with a shower and large mirror complete the pleasant ambience. Bisher nur gute Erfahrungen in den B&B Hotels allerdings in diesem leider negativ

Ich habe schon oft in B&B Hotels übernachtet und nur tolle Erfahrungen gesammelt. Im B&B Köln West allerdings leider das Gegenteil. Das Personal saß vor der Tür und hat geraucht sowie sich privat mit dem Handy beschäftigt während wir an der Rezeption gewartet habendes uns bemerkbar gemacht haben und dies beim ankommen sowie beim abreisen. Das Zimmer war zwar sauber und ausreichend, allerdings kein Schrank nur drei kleine Fächer an der wand wovon eins schon mit einem Föhn belegt war, die Kissen sehr flach und unbequem, dazu kam das die seifenspender fast leer waren und unser Fußhandtuch zusammen gekrumpelt in der Dusche lag und vollkommen nass war beim ankommen. wir haben für einen Parkplatz bezahlt wobei keine mehr frei waren, die Dame an der Rezeption vertröste uns wir sollen doch bitte uns an B&B Mitarbeiter wenden sie ist nur die Nachtschicht und wir sollen halt draußen auf der Straße parken, eine Möglichkeit unser Geld zurück zubekommen wäre eher unwahrscheinlich aber auch nicht ihr Problem. Die ganze Nacht sind Türen geknallt und die Nottür wurde zum Rauchen genutz was dafür gesorgt hat das der Qualm in den Hotelflur an den Zimmern gezogen ist. Morgens um 9 wurde bei uns Dauer geklopft und gesagt wir wären von einer Firma und hätten das Zimmer nicht bezahlt was allerdings nicht der Fall war was wir auch gleich belegen konnten. Eine Entschuldigung kam leider auch nicht, stattdessen 30 Minuten später nochmal geklopft und daraufhin nochmal 45 Minuten später wo die Zimmerreinigungskraft drei mal gefragt hat wann wir abreisen damit er rein kann zum sauber machen wobei unsere Abreisezeit auf 12 Uhr festgelegt war. Dementsprechend die Nacht leider sehr kurz und man konnte kaum zur Ruhe kommen. Vom Service des Personals war ich zum ersten mal leider sehr enttäuscht. Ansonsten war das Zimmer in Ordnung und diese Erfahrung kann ich in keinem anderen B&B Hotel wiedergeben. Sonst sind die Hotels immer mit freundlichen Mitarbeitern verbunden und mal fühlt sich wohl.

Getting to the hotel 

By car:

From Aachen take the A4 to Köln-West junction (10), from Düsseldorf take the A57 to Köln-Nord junction (28) and then follow the A1 direction south to the Köln-West junction (10), or from Frankfurt take the A3 to Köln-Heumar junction (28) then A4 to the Köln-West junction (10). From here take the A1 direction south and then exit at the first junction on the B264, then turn immediately left onto Max-Planck-Str.

From Koblenz take the A61 to Erftstadt then A1 to Köln-West junction (104), take the exit direction Frechen, at the traffic lights continue straight ahead on Max-Planck-Str. until the roundabout, take the second exit and continue on Max-Planck-Str. for approx 600m, and the hotel is on the left hand side. There are parking spaces directly outside the hotel.

Bus/train: From the main train station, take the U-Bahn 18 or 16 direction Bonn to Neumarkt, then continue above ground with tram number 7 direction Frechen to Köln-Marsdorf, then on foot for 1km via Horbeller Str., left onto Dürener Str., and take the first right into Max-Planck-Str. The journey takes about 45 minutes.

From 1 July 2024, the City of Cologne's overnight accommodation tax will apply to all forms of overnight accommodation, regardless of whether the overnight stay is absolutely necessary for business purposes or not.

It is no longer necessary to provide information on the purpose of the trip when checking in using a form

The tax rate is 5 per cent on the price of the overnight stay.

There are some exceptions. The following are exempt from taxation:

  • People who are dependent on temporary accommodation in an accommodation establishment because they have lost their home due to fire or water damage, for example.
  • Refugees who are assigned accommodation in accommodation establishments.
  • School trips authorised by the school management

Overnight stays of persons due to medically necessary treatment and necessary accompanying persons upon request.
