Looking for a unique getaway, explore the history and culture of Zaragoza!

Our hotels in Zaragoza

The Basilica of Nuestra Señora del Pilar and the General Military Academy are among the most visited and best-known sights in Spain. With more than 665,000 inhabitants, it is the sixth largest city in Spain and one of the richest in terms of history and cultural heritage.

Connected to the two most important Spanish cities

Located in the heart of Aragon and almost exactly halfway between the two major Spanish cities, Zaragoza is a very well connected transit point. The journey on the AVE high-speed train from both Madrid and Barcelona takes around an hour and a half. If you choose to drive, the Aragonese capital is three hours away from both cities. It also has an airport for those who prefer this faster mode of travel.

What is there to see in Zaragoza?

The city's historic Roman past can be seen in the old Roman walls as you walk towards the city centre. Of the more than 3,000 metres that the city once had, only 80 remain today.

Zaragoza was not only important in Roman times, but also in the Arab past. Be sure to check out the Aljafería Palace, also known as the small Alhambra. Built in the 11th century in the Mudejar style, the palace is a must-see.

Although we all know that when we think of Zaragoza, we think of the Pilar. The Basilica del Pilar and the Plaza del Pilar are two must-see sights during our visit to the city. In the basilica you can also see some frescoes painted by one of the city's noblest and most famous neighbours, Francisco de Goya.

If you want to have a drink in a great atmosphere, the Tubo neighbourhood has everything you need. The streets of the historic centre are always full of people with its small, typical bars and restaurants. It is the perfect place to enjoy wine, beer and tapas during the day or at night.

Gastronomy to savour

In addition to the beauty and atmosphere of the city, there is also a gastronomy that is second to none. Zaragoza boasts the best roast lamb in Spain, and rightly so. This meaty delicacy, which can only be found in Aragon, is not to be missed.

In many restaurants you can try migas, lomo a la Zaragozana or borage with potatoes, other excellent representatives of the region's gastronomic quality.
