got a smoker room in a non-smoker hotel, how can that be?

The room was heavily smelling of cigarette smoke; the room should not been rented out. And the hotel management new about it. When we arrived, the window was wide open, it was very cold outside and inside. The heating system was turned off because of the open window. Looks like someone tried to remove the smoke smell. Rest of the room was perfectly cleaned up, means the condition of the room was known. Next morning all your clothes smelled of cigarette smoke, so heavy was the pollution. Next morning I was complaining at the reception, asked for my money back. The lady at the reception explained to me the hotel manager is not there and will arrive in 2 hours, she will let him know. I gave her my email and phone number but never heard back from the hotel manager.

  • What are the rental periods for a room? Can I arrive at the hotel at any time?

    Our rooms are rented from 14:00 to 12:00.

    If you opted for a booking guaranteed by bank card you can access your room at any time after 14:00 on the day you arrive.

    Outside of the hotel reception's opening hours, the interactive terminal at the hotel entrance will give you your room number and access code. Please remember to have your booking number and bank card ready for payment.

    If you opted for a booking without bank guaranty, your room is booked up to 7pm. The room may be sold to another guest if we have not heard from you before this time.
