City tax

Touristic tax and guest fee of CuxhavenThe city of Cuxhaven charges a touristic tax and guest fee for overnight stays. The touristic tax is defined by the city of Cuxhaven and the amount is 2,75% of the gross cost incl. VAT. Business travelers are not affected by this tax. Appropriate verification of business stays must be presented by the guest before check-in or due date of payment.

Additionally, the city of Cuxhaven charges a guest fee per person and night of € 3,30 for season A respectively € 2,90 for season B. The guest fee must be paid by all persons older than 16 years, who are using spa facilities. The following are exempt from paying the guest fee: Disabled persons, persons accompanying disabled persons and relatives of persons with primary residence in Cuxhaven. The hotel is required to forward this tax to the city of Cuxhaven.
