The square is just a few minutes' walk from the main train station and is located on the edge of the traffic-calmed zone in the city center.

Location

One of the main reasons why you should book a room here is the hotel's central location. You don't have to search for the hotel for long, it's easy to find: Coming from the train station, walk straight ahead past the streetcar stops directly into the City Center. After a few meters on the left side you will find the B&B HOTEL.

The most important sights in the city center are just a few minutes' walk from our hotel at Nikolaistraße 34. The Museum of Fine Arts is just a 5-minute walk away, the Mädler Passage is a 7-minute walk and the airport is 25 minutes away by car. You can get wherever your heart desires by public transport from the train station. Due to the hotel's location in the pedestrian zone, you sleep in a very quiet environment and are not disturbed by the departing trains at the station.

What should I have seen near Augustusplatz?

There are many sights to discover around Augustusplatz and therefore in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. So there is no need to walk long distances. Buildings from various decades of the 20th century are grouped around the approximately 40,000 square meter square. The most important are the Leipzig Opera House, the Gewandhaus zu Leipzig and the Augusteum and Paulinum of Leipzig University. Also not to be overlooked: the Panorama Tower city skyscraper, from which you have a breathtaking view over the city.

Impressive and full of history

On Augustusplatz you will find an impressive futuristic building, the Paulinum. It is the assembly hall and university church of St. Pauli with a façade made of stone and glass. The view from the 29th floor of the Panorama Tower is also impressive. An elevator takes you to the viewing platform in less than 5 minutes!

Just 300 meters from Augustusplatz is the Nikolaikirche, for example, which played a central role in the Peaceful Revolution of 1989. Nikolaistraße also offers numerous stores, restaurants and cozy cafés. You should try the regional specialty Leipziger Allerlei in one of the restaurants.

In the heart of the city center, you should definitely visit the Mädler Passage with Auerbach's cellar and the market square. Here you will find a special architectural gem: the Old Town Hall, one of the most beautiful Renaissance buildings in Germany, which houses the City History Museum.
