Which are the best beaches in the north?

The Mediterranean laps Italy's almost 7500 km of coastline, creating a remarkable variety of landscapes and types of coastline. Which beaches to see in Central-South Italy (islands included)?

Central and Southern Italy are true paradises for those who wish to spend their beach holidays in Italy. The beaches of Tuscany rank second in the Blue Flag classification, thanks to their beautiful, clean sea and the variety of coastlines present. Campania, with the splendid beaches of the Amalfi Coast and Cilento (for example, Marina di Camerota), the beautiful beaches of Puglia, from Gargano to Salento, the sandy beaches surrounded by pine forests of Abruzzo, the wild shores of the Tyrrhenian coast of Basilicata perfect for snorkeling lovers, the seaside resorts of Calabria, are just some of the destinations capable of satisfying all tastes. Many of them, in fact, are also close to cities that allow combining typically summer and seaside activities with cultural interludes. Last but not least, Sicily and Sardinia. If the largest island in Italy is home to some of the best Italian beaches, the latter is famous worldwide for its small hidden coves and for the Sea of Sardinia, iridescent and enchanted.
