How to check in at a hotel?

 "Check-in" refers to the moment guests arrive at their chosen accommodation, submit their identification documents for registration, and receive their room keys. Valid identification documents in Italy include identity cards, passports, driving or nautical licenses, state entity identification cards, and firearms permits. Accommodation facilities usually set a check-in time starting from 2:00 PM (to give staff enough time to prepare the room and present it in the best condition). But how late can check-in be done? Each hotel has its own rules, depending on whether staff are present at the reception.
