Whether it's the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein Coal Mine, the Grugapark, or Lake Baldeney - our modern B&B Hotel in North Essen is the perfect starting point for those who want to explore the former industrial city.

Our four-story hotel with an elevator is located at the end of a park area at Lichtbogen 1, surrounded by tall trees. Just across the street, a steel support fragment reminds us of the industrial era when the machine halls of the Krupp wagon factory stood here.

Location and Opening Hours

The B&B Hotel Essen Nord is located 5 minutes from the city center and approximately 5 km from the A42 motorway. This makes Dortmund or Duisburg easily accessible. The Düsseldorf International Airport is also reachable in just under 30 minutes.

By public transportation, you can reach the city center by bus and subway in just 10 minutes (5 minutes by car) and the trade fair in about 25 minutes (15 minutes by car).

The reception is open, as in all our B&B hotels, from Monday to Friday from 6 am to 12 am and on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from 7 am to 12 pm and from 5 pm to 10 pm. However, check-in outside these hours is still possible: With our 24-hour check-in, you can conveniently check in at any time using your credit card or booking code at the machine.

The rooms at our B&B Hotel are bright, modern, and fully equipped for you to enjoy your stay to the fullest. In your cozy room, you will find a bed of your choice: a French bed (150 cm x 200 cm) or two single beds, a desk, a wardrobe, and an LCD TV.

Your room is equipped with soundproof windows, allowing you to have a peaceful night's sleep and wake up refreshed the next morning.

Furthermore, each room has its own bathroom with a toilet and shower. Our rooms are non-smoking rooms, but a designated smoking area is available in the hotel. Additionally, you can use our free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.

In northern Essen, you can explore the history of the city at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein Coal Mine or the Ruhr Museum. The Colosseum Theater and Zeche Carl are ideal places to discover Essen's cultural and nightlife.

Another hot tip: Just 30 minutes by car, you'll find the popular Baldeneysee - one of the most sought-after recreational areas in the Ruhr region. Here, you can relax on, by, or in the water and immerse yourself in the idyllic nature.
