Wetzlar will appeal equally to culture vultures, connoisseurs and shopaholics. Stroll through the Old Town with its lovingly-restored timber houses and its distinctive cathedral. Relax in one of the cozy cafés and restaurants, stroll through the small streets with their pretty boutiques, visit one of the six museums worth seeing in the city or feel the historical flair at Lahnpförtchen Platz.

Wetzlar and world literature – follow in Goethe’s footsteps

Without Wetzlar, there would be no Werther. When a young Johann Wolfgang Goethe travelled to Lahnstadt for an internship in 1772, he fell in love with Charlotte Buff, the daughter of a local official. Sadly, Charlotte was already engaged to someone else. His experience of unrequited love, along with the suicide of his colleague Karl Wilhelm Jerusalem, provided the inspiration for his famous novel, “The Sorrows of Young Werther.” Visit the Museum Lottehaus and Jerusalemhaus to follow in the footsteps of the poet and those he loved.

Ruhige Nacht und sauberes Zimmer

Wir waren zum dritten Mal in Wetzlar im B&B. Wie immer haben wir dort eine sehr ruhige Nacht verbracht in sauberen Zimmern. Wir finden es sehr angenehm, dass man jetzt einen Parkplatz direkt buchen kann.

How to get there

From A45: Take exit 30 Wetzlar-Ost, then take the B49 in the direction of Wetzlar, Limburg. Take the Garbenheim exit, turn right onto Garbenheimer Straße in the direction of Zentrum. Take the 1st exit at the roundabout, the hotel is on the left. Free parking spaces are available directly at the hotel.

Bus/Train: From Gießen Hauptbahnhof RB15112 direction Dillenburg, get off at Wetzlar Bahnhof; from Dillenburg Bahnhof RB99 direction Frankfurt am Main, get off at Wetzlar Bahnhof; from Weilburg an der Lahn Bahnhof RB45 direction Fulda, get off at Wetzlar Bahnhof; from Wetzlar Bahnhof the hotel is within walking distance (approx. 600 m walk).
