You will find the Hanseatic city’s second B&B Hotel in Harburg - a district south of the Elbe river. Harburg is particularly known for its large inland port. This includes the ‘Hamburg Channel’, Hamburg’s southern high-tech district, and the Harburg ‘Schloßinsel’ where you can find the borough’s oldest building. Every year, Hamburg celebrates its inland port festival. A lively programme takes place over 3 days with entertainment on water and land.

"We recommend a trip to the picturesque Außenmühlenteich, the pride of the people of Harburg, to all nature enthusiasts. On site you can go pedal boating, picnicking and jogging. There you can enjoy peace, idyll and nature."

Location

The B&B Hotel Hamburg-Harburg is located between the east and west ‘Bahnhof’ canals. Hamburg-Harburg train station is just a few minutes away. Hamburg’s city centre is about a 15-minute drive away, or a 30-minute trip by public transport.

Facilities

This well-equipped, modern hotel has single and double rooms, as well as family rooms for three or four people. Rooms on upper floors can be accessed by lift. All rooms are air-conditioned and fitted with soundproofed windows. There is also a flat-screen TV and desk in every room. Bathrooms are fitted with a shower, toilet, hair dryer and wash basin.

Wi-Fi is also available to all guests free of charge.

Additional services

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. With our B&B breakfast buffet you’ll get off to a flying start. There are also snack and drink vending machines in the lobby. Wir waren als Familie mit Kleinkind in diesem B&B-Hotel und insgesamt sehr zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben sind die Sauberkeit und die Ruhe im gesamten Hotel. Unser Familienzimmer war angenehm groß, sodass wir auch mit Kind genügend Platz hatten. Man hat sich wirklich wohlgefühlt. Auch die Lage ist sehr praktisch: Vieles ist fußläufig erreichbar, und zusätzlich befindet sich eine Bushaltestelle direkt in der Straße, von der aus alle 10–20 Minuten Busse fahren. In der Nähe gibt es außerdem einen Spielplatz – ein klarer Pluspunkt für Familien. Am Ende der Straße findet man zudem Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sowie einen Bäcker, was gerade mit Kind sehr hilfreich ist. Das Frühstück war geschmacklich wirklich sehr gut. Die Auswahl war frisch und wurde vom aufmerksamen Personal am Buffet ständig nachgefüllt. Einziger Kritikpunkt hier: Die Speisen waren teilweise unzureichend beschriftet. Gerade bei Wurstwaren wäre es hilfreich zu wissen, aus welchem Fleisch sie bestehen. Ein paar Dinge sind uns speziell als Familie mit kleinem Kind aufgefallen: Im Familienzimmer gab es lediglich einen kleinen Mülleimer im Badezimmer. Größere Mülleimer oder Hinweise, wo man z. B. Windeln oder größere Abfälle wie Pizzakartons entsorgen kann, haben gefehlt. Dadurch mussten wir häufiger den Reinigungsservice rufen, obwohl das sonst gar nicht nötig gewesen wäre. Ein zusätzlicher Mülleimer im Zimmer wäre hier sehr sinnvoll. Auch ein Kühlschrank im Zimmer hat uns gefehlt, was mit Kind durchaus praktisch gewesen wäre. Wir haben außerdem bei der Buchung ein Gratiswasser mit dazugebucht bekommen. Dieses befand sich jedoch weder im Zimmer noch haben wir beim Check-in eine Information dazu erhalten. Es war unklar, wo man dieses bekommen kann. Trotz dieser kleineren Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten hatten wir einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt. Das Hotel ist sauber, ruhig, gut gelegen und grundsätzlich sehr familienfreundlich. Wir würden wiederkommen.

Das Hotel wirkt sehr modern und freundlich gestaltet, Personal freundlich und ausreichend vorhanden. Zimmer sehr sauber und ordentlich. Jedoch war mir und meiner Partnerin das Bett etwas zu Hart und die Kopfkissen zu niedrig, da hat aber ja jeder einen anderen Eindruck von. Im Großen und Ganzen ein Gutes B&B in HH

Directions to Hamburg-Harburg

By car:

A1 (from North/South): Take exit HH-Harburg (in the direction of Harburg) onto Neuländer Straße Street and, after 2 km, turn left (in the direction of the B73/Cuxhaven) on Hannoversche Straße Street. After 750 metres, turn right onto Theodor-Yorck-Straße Street and B&B Hotel Hamburg-Harburg is directly on the left-hand side.

B73 (from Cuxhaven): Turn right before the Seehafenbrücke Bridge (following “Richtung Hafen Harburg") and follow the loop over the Seehafenbrücke Bridge, then turn right (towards Elbbrücken). This becomes "Karnapp" and Theodor-Yorck-Straße Street is on the left, then the hotel is on the left at the junction.

Bus/train:

Take the S3 train (in the direction of Hamburg/Neugraben) or the S31 (in the direction of Hamburg-Harburg Rathaus) towards Hamburg Hauptbahnhof Station or Hamburg-Harburg to "Hamburg-Harburg Rathaus". From here, the hotel is 500 metres away on foot. Take a left (in the direction of the south-east) along the Harburger Ring, then left towards “Am Wall”. Turn right onto Hans-Fitze-Strasse Street and cross the bridge over the B73. On the left, diagonally opposite, is Theodor-Yorck-Strasse Street.

Since the 1st of January 2013, the city of Hamburg has levied a culture and tourist tax on overnight stays in the Hanseatic city. The tax applies to visitors who are staying in Hamburg as a private guest. Business travellers are not affected. As a business traveller, please provide the reason for your stay together with a letter from your employer upon arrival (a template can be downloaded from the City of Hamburg website). If you’d like to make use of online check-in, please send the completed form by email before you complete online check-in and payment. The hotel is obliged to forward the collected taxes to the city of Hamburg’s Office for Traffic Taxes and Property, on the basis of the employer forms submitted by guests.

Please note that as from 01.01.2023 the cultural and touristic tax will be also levied for business travelers.
