Our B&B HOTEL am Strangenhäuschen 15 is located just 4 kilometres north-east of the city centre, offering you short distances to the centre and the most important sights. Discover the picturesque architecture of the city centre, such as the iconic Elisenbrunnen fountain or the imposing Aachen Cathedral, and indulge yourself at the Carolus Thermen.

How to get there 

Whichever direction you are travelling from, the hotel is only 400 metres from the A4 motorway. Simply take exit 3 - Aachen Zentrum and park directly in front of the hotel. Our guests have their own car park at the hotel.

For train travellers, the train station is approx. 4 km away. Various bus lines will take you directly to the hotel. The nearest bus stop ‘Strangenhäuschen’ is only 300 metres away, so you can easily explore the historic past of the imperial city of Aachen by public transport.

The proximity to the surrounding airports is another plus point: Aachen-Merzbrück Airport is only 8 kilometres away and Aachen-Maastricht Airport is just under 37 kilometres away.

Please note that our hotel is not a bike hotel and that bicycles or e-scooters may not be brought into the rooms.

Opening hours

Our hotel reception welcomes you from Monday to Friday from 6.30 am to 11 am and from 5 pm to 10 pm and on Saturdays from 7.30 am to 11 am and from 5 pm to 10 pm; and on Sundays and public holidays from 7.30 am to 11 am and from 5 pm to 9 pm.  A check-in between 12:00 and 14:59 (early check-in) will be charged an additional €15 per room.

Of course, we take certain safety precautions to ensure the safety of our guests. The hotel is equipped with smoke detectors, fire extinguishers and other safety systems.

This is what your room looks like

Our hotel has 78 cosy rooms and one practically furnished room with disabled access. The main difference between the rooms is the size of the bed. At B&B HOTELS, you can choose whether you want to share the duvet in a large French bed (150 cm x 200 cm) or prefer to stay in a single bed.

By the way: Your sleep will be particularly restful in our rooms, as our soundproofed windows ensure a good night's sleep.

You will also find a desk, cloakroom and LCD TV in our modern rooms. Of course, you can use our free Wi-Fi in the lobby and in all rooms. Fancy a hot shower before you hit the hay? Each room has its own open bathroom with shower and WC.

For all animal lovers: pets are welcome at B&B HOTELS for a small extra charge!

Our house does not have a lift. The upper 2 floors are only accessible via a staircase. Please call us before you book to check the availability of a room on the ground floor.

Our breakfast buffet

Before you set off on your exploration tour of the imperial city, you should also have breakfast like an emperor. For a small price, you can help yourself to our extensive breakfast buffet until you're full. Whether tea, coffee or juice, savoury or sweet - nothing stands in the way of your imperial breakfast. Unfortunately, it is not permitted to take food and drinks with you.

Our breakfast room is open from Monday to Friday from 6.30 am to 10 am, at weekends and on public holidays from 7.30 am to 10 am. If you work up an appetite beyond that, you can help yourself to snacks and drinks from our vending machine in the lobby.

Discover Aachen and the surrounding area

Germany's westernmost city is located in the border triangle with the Netherlands and Belgium and offers a great range of cultural and leisure activities, including the Euregiozoo zoo, the historic Kornelimünster funfair and Frankenberg Castle. Visit the Alte Posthof, for example, which is now home to a cinema, many small shops, restaurants and a beer garden. Simply use our free Wi-Fi to find out more about your excursion destinations.

A special tip for all those who want to unwind: The Aachen Forest is located just 7 kilometres south of the city centre on the Belgian border and is a true paradise for hikers, cyclists and walkers.
