When we arrived at the hotel we were given the keys to both rooms that we have pre booked from April last year. When we went upstairs to the room room for 440 was unclean and unmade. After travelling for such a long journey we were very disappointed that our room was not ready despite it being 1 p.m. and on an email confirmation being told that check in was at 12 p.m. we went downstairs to the young lady on reception and told her the room had not been cleaned the beds were amazed the person still closed and rubbish all around the room. She said she would send somebody up to check the room and get it cleaned. When she arrived upstairs she told us it would take about one hour to clean the room. After an hour of waiting nobody came to tell her that the room was clean. My husband went downstairs to speak to the head of reception Hassan. He explains the issue to him and told him that we were very disappointed at having to wait for such a long time. His response was absolutely disgraceful. He refused to apologise stating we were lucky that we even had that room because we only had it as he had done up a big favour. He went on to say that we should stop complaining because he had done to big favour for us number one booking 2 rooms close to each other and number 2 letting us check in at 12 p.m. I explained to him that we had no idea that he had done up a special favour we thought that a request from April for two rooms together would have been possible without question. And as for the 5 p.m. check in when I emailed I was told that's why check in time nobody mentioned a favour. He told my husband that it was a problem and if we didn't like it then we should leave and not bother staying at the hotel but stay somewhere else instead where they would provide a 4-star service my husband he was very cross told him we had paid a decent price to stay at the hotel and expected to be treated with Manners and that's an apology should be made regarding the fact that our room was unmade and not ready for our arrival despite being given the key. Very aggressively he pointed to the right pricing board in the foyer and said to my husband this is a decent price you have not paid a decent price. I was absolutely appalled at this comment we paid the requested full price on booking.com of €112 for one night plus the cost of breakfast in addition. I could not believe that attitude of this man and how rude and disrespectful he was. When I question him myself and asked why nobody had told of the room was ready at 14 p.m. game said this is a budget hotel if you don't like it go across the road to one of the four stars where they will give you a personal service I do not have time to give persona service! He said to my husband I have given you a finger and you are trying to take my whole hand asking for things. Whatever this comment was supposed to mean it was both extremely derogatory and rude! I asked him once more if he was prepared to apologise simply for the fact the room was not completed upon arrival again he refused and said it was not his problem! I have never ever in my life been spoken to or treated with such little respect by a significant member of staff in any hotel I have ever stayed in. This customer service skills were absolutely disgusting the lowest of the low. He was arrogant rude ignorant and quite frankly vile in his approach and attitude toward us as customers. We went upstairs to cool down and came back down later to request to speak to the hotel manager to which we were told again you are not speaking to the manager I am the manager and as I said already if you have a problem leave the hotel! We Will Live feeling extremely upset and very frustrated. Our children were upset because we were upset and it was a real negative start to a week in France. The following morning we came downstairs but unfortunately the hotel manager was in a meeting however we were unable to speak to to excellent reception personnel who was very understanding very sympathetic and very apologetic. The impression we were given was that this that was quite common and standard attitude for this man Hassan - their faces said it all!!!! We will never stay at your hotel again and we will NEVER recommend any of the hotels to our friends and family in England!!! Hassan should be disciplined or quite frankly sacked! He is a disgrace to your hotel and clearly thinks very low of your establishment to be telling us repeatedly that the hotel is ONLY 2* and he doeant care! 2 or 3 times he told us to take our money and get out if we had a problem - what kind of attitude is this to have?
